If you’ve never had cauliflower wings, it is time to change that. Even if cauliflower isn’t your fave veggie – you do not want to pass these up!
I have made these wings a few different ways. I’ve experimented with oat flour breading, wheat flour only, panko only, and a few other ways too. I think this recipe I’ve perfected is the best so far. So give it a try and let me know what you think!

The breading requires 2 steps. So you will need a separate bowl for each and make a little cauli-wing production line.
- Flour & plant milk
- Panko & spices
Then all you need to do is bake, toss in sauce, and bake again! Its pretty simple and the reward is mouthwatering.

For crispier wings, a light coating with the first breading layer (flour and milk mixture) is all you need. For a more gooey coating, use a bit more of the first breading layer.
And it is up to you if you want to coat the whole cauliflower wing. It is a bit less messy if you don’t coat the stem.

To make these wings oil-free, use a silicone baking sheet or baking paper so they don’t stick to the pan.

Now it’s time to bake the cauliflower until it is softened. Then we toss in sauce! You can choose whatever sauce you want really…but I went for the traditional American wing flavors – buffalo and BBQ.

Before you make these wings make sure you have some vegan ranch on hand for dipping…or you might regret it.
Everytime I make these I will eat a whole cauliflower, be stuffed, and I can feel good about it because I just ate a whole cauliflower! Who cares!

- Cook Time45 min
- Total Time1 hr 5 min
- Serving Size2-4 servings
Ingredients
- 1 large head cauliflower
- 1/2 cup flour (I like using chickpea flour)
- 3/4 cup unsweetened plant milk
- 3/4 cup panko
- 1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup Buffalo sauce
Directions
Preheat oven to 375F. Chop cauliflower into 2-inch florets (little trees).
Prepare the first breading layer by whisking together the flour and plant milk until smooth.
Prepare the second breading layer by whisking together the panko and spices in a separate bowl.
Dip each wing in the first breading layer and then the second breading layer. Place the wings on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes.
Remove wings from the pan and transfer half to one large bowl and the other half to a separate large bowl. Coat one bowl of wings with BBQ sauce and the other bowl of wings with Buffalo sauce. Gently stir the wings in the bowl to coat evenly.
Return the wings to the lined baking sheets. Bake for another 10-15 minutes.
Enjoy immediately! (or after they cool down slightly)
